Dr. Kerri Johannson

MD MPH FRCPC ATSF

Dr. Kerri Johannson is Associate Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Community Health Sciences at the University of Calgary, and co-leads the translational portfolio for the Snyder Institute for Chronic Diseases. She completed medical training in Calgary, with an interstitial lung disease fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco and MPH in environmental Health Science at UC, Berkeley. She is Research Director for the ILD program in Calgary and post-graduate ILD fellowship director. Her research is focused on characterizing the impact of environmental exposures on pulmonary fibrosis, and improving the lives of patients with PF.

Amanda Grant-Orser

MBCCh, FRCPC

Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, Division of Respirology, University of Calgary

Dr. Grant-Orser is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary and Director of the Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) Clinic at Foothills Medical Centre. She completed her ILD fellowship at the University of Calgary, following residency training in Internal Medicine and Respirology at Western University. She earned her medical degree from University College Dublin, Ireland. Dr. Grant-Orser’s research focuses on familial pulmonary fibrosis, improving time to diagnosis for patients living with ILD and prognostic biomarkers. "

Na'ama Avitzur

MD, FRCPC, MSc

Dr. Na’ama Avitzur is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Calgary. She completed medical school, as well as internal medicine and respirology training at the University of Calgary. She subsequently pursued a 2-year interstitial lung disease fellowship and a Master's of Health Science at the University of British Columbia, with a focus in epidemiology and clinical research. Dr. Avitzur's interests include clinical and imaging research in ILD with a focus on machine learning and quantitative CT.

Sam Spencer

Biobank Research Coordinator, Snyder Institute for Chronic Diseases, University of Calgary

Sam Spencer is the Biobank Research Coordinator for the Snyder Institute for Chronic Diseases at the University of Calgary and manages both the Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) and Fibrotic Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis (FHP) Biobanks. She completed her Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Medical Sciences from Brock University before moving to Calgary. In her role, Sam oversees biobank operations, biospecimen collection and processing, data management, shipments and regulatory compliance. She supports research aimed at advancing the understanding and treatment of chronic diseases.

Reza Javanray

Research Assistants

Reza is entering his last year of BSc in Neuroscience from the University of Calgary. He is interested in supporting ongoing projects and creating a deeper understanding of interstitial lung diseases, biostatistics, and clinical visits. Outside the lab, Reza volunteers as a crisis line responder and enjoys playing music and video games.
